2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 large bag (12 oz.) chocolate chips
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. pure vanilla
1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar
1 cup butter
2 large eggs (at room temperature)
1 Cup coarsely chopped macadamia nuts or your favorite nuts

Preheat oven to 350º
In a large bowl cream butter, sugar, eggs and extracts. Sift four, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls or roll into round balls, flatten a little with the palm of your hand then onto ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350º for 8 minutes. Cool.
