4 quarts squash, sliced thin
6 medium onions, sliced thin
3 cups vinegar
5 cups sugar
1½ tsp. mustard seed
1½ tsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. turmeric

Directions:
Directions:
Pour 1/4 cup salt over squash and onions; let stand 3 hours and then drain. Mix vinegar, sugar, mustard seed, celery seed, and turmeric; heat and pour in squash and onion mixture. Bring to boil and boil 1 minute (longer if desired). Pack in sterilized jars. Makes about 5 pints.
