2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter Crisco
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. water
2 large eggs @ room temperature
12 oz. bag Hershey semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tbsp. water

Directions:

Sift together dry ingredients except the baking soda.

Cream Crisco, sugars, vanilla, and water until creamy.

Beat in eggs one at a time.

Add dry ingredients and mix completely.

Add chips and nuts. Nuts are optional.

After the chips have been added and mixed for a minute or so( it should look chocolaty), add the the baking soda that has been mixed very well with the 1 tbsp. extra water. ( Shake it up in a baby food jar). Mix well.

Use a cookie scoop and bake @ 375º for 11 minutes on a lightly greased cookie sheet.

Do not cook for less than 11 minutes.

Let the cookies sit on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes. Remove and cool for @ least 5 minutes on a cooling rack.
