1 or 2 chickens, cut into serving pieces
1 cup soy sauce
4 to 6 slices fresh ginger optional
1 clove garlic
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon MSG

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°. Place chicken pieces into a large pan. Combine all ingredients and pour over chicken. Cover pan and cook until chicken boils. Take cover off and turn chicken pieces over until all are browned with sauce. Allow sauce to boil down for 5 minutes. Place chicken in shallow roasting pan. Cover with sauce and bake in oven 45 minutes to one hour, turning frequently. Chicken pieces can also be barbecued over hot coals or under a broiler.
