3 - c sugar
1/2 - c corn syrup
1/2 - c water
3 - egg whites
1/2 - tsp vanilla
1-1/2 - c chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Line a 8 or 9 in. x 2" baking pan with aluminum foil, allowing foil to overlap edges of pan. Butter foil liberally.

Place egg whites in electric mixer bowl and beat until stiff peaks form.

In a large heavy saucepot, mix sugar, corn syrup, and water and bring to boil over medium heat. Syrup is ready when a small amount dropped into cold water hardens and cracks.

With electric mixer on low speed, pour syrup mixture into egg whites in a slow, steady stream until thoroughly incorporated. Add vanilla and pecans and mix until incorporated.

Immediately pour into buttered & lined pan and allow to cool completely before removing from pan and cutting into squares.
