5 cups flour (all-purpose)
3 to 4 T. crisco
1 T. salt
ice cold water (about 1 Tbl per cup of flour)

Directions:
Sift flour and salt together and work in the crisco with a fork. Mix in the ice water, small amounts at a time to make a dough stiff enough to roll. Form into a ball (like pie dough). Roll out and cut into strips.(I like to roll it out very thin, my strips are about 1-inch wide and then I pull off about 1 1/2-inch pieces and drop into boiling chicken broth and cook until tender). This is enough for 1 gal. of broth.

Personal Notes:
These dumplings don't always turn out the same way. When you want them to, they don't. My kids and grandkids say they are delicious!
You can freeze these and cook later. Put them on a cookie sheet with wax paper between layers.
