1 loaf Hawaiian sweet bread with crust, Challah or other egg bread cut in 1 inch slices or cubed
8 oz package of cream cheese, cubed
1 cup fresh blueberries
8 eggs
1.5 c milk
1/2 c maple syrup
1/2 c melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly coat an 11 X 7 X 2 inch Pyrex dish with cooking spray or butter. Layer half of the bread in the prepared pan. Layer the cream cheese and half the berries evenly over bread. Top with the remaining bread and remaining berries.
Whisk eggs, milk, syrup, butter and vanilla in a medium bowl to combine well. Pour over bread mixture. Cover with foil; bake 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 30 minutes until bread mixture is puffed and brown. Dust with powdered sugar(optional). Spoon or cut into portions and serve with warm maple syrup and sausage or ham if desire.
