COOKIES:
3 1/4 cups flour
1 tablespoon ground ginger
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses

FROSTING:
1 egg white
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups powdered sugar

Directions:
COOKIES: Cream butter in large bowl, add sugar gradually, beating until fluffy. Add egg and molasses and beat well. Add all dry ingredients gradually, beating until blended after each addition. Wrap dough in wax paper and chill overnight. Roll out dough on a floured board to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with floured cookie cutters. Place about 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly brown.

FROSTING: Beat egg white, cream of tartar and salt until soft peaks form. Beat in powdered sugar gradually until frosting forms stiff peaks. Decorate with frosting piped through a cake decorator.
