Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cinnamon red hot candies
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Red food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Pulse cinnamon candies until finely ground and set aside. Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually add flour, baking powder and salt and mix until well blended. Divide dough in half. In one half of dough, knead in candies and food coloring to tint a pretty red. Roll cinnamon dough into 15" x 10" rectangle between two sheets of wax paper. Repeat with plain dough. Refrigerate rectangles 10 minutes or until chilled but still pliable. Remove top sheet of wax paper from rectangles. Place plain rectangle on work surface with long side facing you. Invert cinnamon rectangle on top of plain rectangle so edges line up evenly. Remove top sheet of wax paper. Starting from long side, tightly roll rectangles together jelly roll fashion, lifting bottom sheet of wax paper as you roll. Wrap log in plastic wrap and freeze at least one hour or overnight. Remove from freezer and cut crosswise into 1/4 inch slices. Place slices 1" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325º 14 to 15 minutes until lightly browned around edges.
