1 cup butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons maraschino cherry juice
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
48 chocolate kisses, unwrapped

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl combine butter, powdered sugar, cherry juice and almond extract and blend well. Stir in flour and salt. Add cherries and mix well. Form dough into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350º for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown around edges. Immediately top each cookie with a chocolate kiss and remove from cookie sheet.
