1 cup softened butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2-1/2 tsp vanilla
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
12 oz. bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350º F. In a large bowl, mix butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla. In another bowl, mix flour, salt, baking powder and soda. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stir in chocolate chips. Place golf-ball sized dough portions 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 9-10 minutes or just until edges are light brown.

Be careful not to cook for too long...they don't seem to be done after 10 minutes, but will continue to cook after removed from the oven.
