Texas BBQ Beef Brisket Recipe

1 boneless beef brisket, flat cut (about 21/2- 31/2 lbs.)
3/4 c. barbecue sauce
1/2 cup dry red wine

Rub:
2 T. chili powder
1 T. packed brown sugar
11/2 t. garlic powder

Directions:
Directions:
Combine rub ingrediants in small bowl; press evenly onto beef brisket. Place brisket, fat side up, in stockpot.
Combine barbecue sauce and wine in small bowl. Pour around brisket; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover tightly and simmer 21/2-3 hrs. or until brisket is fork tender. Remove briket; keep warm.
Skim fat from cooking liquid. Bring cooking liquid to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cookm uncovered, 8-10 minutes or until reduced to 1 c. sauce, stirring occasionally.
Trim fat from brisket. Carve diagonally across the grain into thin slice. Serve with sauce.
