1 C. sugar
3 T milk
1 large egg
2 T butter

Directions:
Place all ingredients in a heavy sauce pan with the stove on low until all ingredients melt. Then, stir until the mixture boils well, remove from heat and use on a cake.

The recipe is from my grandmother, Paula (Poe) Thompson. My mother also used this recipe, often. I love this frosting on any type of cake, but it is especially delicious and memorable on Angel Food and Apple Spice Cakes.
