1 lb hamburger
1 onion chopped
1 green pepper chopped
3 cloves garlic minced
32 oz chicken broth
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 T firmly packed brown sugar
2 t Italian seasoning
1/2 t salt
2 c broken lasagna noodles
1 5 oz pkg grated parmesan cheese
Italian seasoned croutons, optional
2 c shredded mozzarella

In a large pot, combine hamburger, onion, pepper and garlic. Cook until hamburger is done and finely crumbled. Drain. Stir in chicken broth, brown sugar, tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning and salt. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Add noodles and simmer until they are tender. Stir in parmesan cheese. After ladling into individual bowls, top with mozzarella and croutons if desired. Can even put under broiler to brown cheese if you want.
