6 pounds fresh Beef Brisket
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup sherry wine, not cooking sherry
4 sliced onions
Salt
Garlic powder
Ginger ale or beef broth if addition gravy is desired

Directions:
Directions:
Sprinkle beef with salt and garlic powder.Roast uncovered for 2 hours in 350 degree oven. Add sliced onion and sherry and cover tightly with foil.return to oven for two more hours or until meat is tender. Remove meat ,cool and refrigerate. Slice thin and place in sauce which has had fat removed. Reheat.
