2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp mace or 1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 c. sour cream
1 c. shortening
5 eggs
2 tblsp vanilla
1/4 c. karo syrup (light)
6 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp. baking soda
6 tsp. baking powder

Bake 350º 7-9 mins. Makes 3 1/2 - 4 dozen large cookies or 7-8 doz. small.

Cream together sugar, mace, sour cream and shortening. Then add eggs (stirring after each), vanilla, karo syrup, salt, baking soda, baking powder, mix well. Chill 6 hours or overnight. Roll out thick. Frost with buttercream frosting & decorate with sugar crystals.
