1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
1 tsp. vanilla
2 oz. red food coloring
2 eggs
2 c. cake flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. baking soda

Icing:

1/4 c. flour
1 c. sweet milk
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, cocoa, and salt. Set aside cream, Crisco, and sugar. Add vanilla food coloring and eggs. Cream well. Add flour mix with buttermilk. Fold in soda and vinegar. Bake at 325º for 30-40 minutes.

Icing:

Cook flour and milk together to pudding stage and set aside to cool. Cream butter, Crisco, and sugar; add to mixture beat until fluffy.
