Ingredients:
Ingredients:
8 cups blackberries (fresh or thawed if frozen)
2 ¼ cup sugar
1/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Pastry – prepare as if to be used for a double crust 10 inch pie
¼ cup oleo (or butter)- cut up
Sugar (optional for top of cobbler)

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together the first 4 ingredients and let stand for 10 minutes or until sugar dissolves.
Roll out ½ pastry to ¼ inch thick – cut into 1 ½ inch wide strips. Place on lightly greased baking sheet (or use nonstick spray).
Bake pastry strips: 450 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned
Break pastry strips into pieces. Use ½ of these pieces to line the bottom of baking dish that has been prepared with oleo or non-stick spray.
Into a lightly greased (or use non-stick spray) 9x13 baking dish, spoon ½ of the blackberry mixture over the bottom layer of pastry pieces. Top mixture with remaining pastry pieces. Spoon remaining berry mixture over pastry and dot with butter.
Roll remaining pastry dough to ¼ inch thickness, cut into 1 inch strips, and arrange lattice design over filling. Sprinkle sugar over lattice.
Place cobbler on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until golden.
Serve with vanilla ice cream and blackberry syrup. However, it’s mighty good without the ice cream – scoop out a serving of cobbler and enjoy with a big glass of milk.
