1/2 c. butter,1/2 c. shortning,1/2 c. brown sugar,1/2 c.sugar (set aside for later)1 egg,1 tsp.vanilla.2 c.flour,1 tsp. soda ,1 tsp.cream of tarter,1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together first 3 ingredients.Add egg,then other ingredients. Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Roll in sugar. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 350º.

This is a recipe I got from a Kai family cookbook that Jim's mom gave me. I would always use green & red sugar when I made them at Christmas time.This is a cookie I was always asked to bring for potlucks at work.
