1 pkg. milk chocolate chips
2 tbsp. vegetable shortening
1-14 oz. bag caramels
5 tbsp. butter or margarine
2 tbsp. water
1 c. coarsely chopped peanuts

Directions:
Directions:
Melt chips and vegetable shortening. Stir until morsels are melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. Pour 1/2 melted mixture into an 8 in. foil lined square pan. Spread evenly. Refrigerate 15 mins. Combine caramels, butter, and water. Stir in nuts until well blended. Pour into the chocolate lined pan. Spread evenly. Refrigerate 15 mins. Top with remaining melted chocolate, spread evenly to cover the caramel filling. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Cut into 1X2 in. rectangles. Refrigerate until ready to use.
