3-31/2 Lbs. Beef Short Ribs (no bones)
2 Tbsp Flour
1 Tsp Salt
1/8 Tsp Pepper
2 Tbsp Shortening
2 med. onions, diced
1/2 Cup Dry Red Wine or Water
1/2 Cup Chili Sauce
3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
3 Tbsp Vinegar
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 Tsp Dry Mustard
1/2 Tsp Chili Powder
2 Tbsp cornstarch

Coat short ribs in mixture of 2 Tbsp. of flour with the salt & pepper. Melt shortening in a large skillet. Add ribs & brown on all sides. In slow cooker combine ribs, onion, wine, chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, worchestershire sauce, mustard & chili powder. Cover & cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Turn control to high, mix 2 Tbsp cornstarch with a small amount of water to make a paste, add to sauce & cook on high for about 10 mins until slightly thickened. Serve over egg noodles.
