2 cans, whole water chestnuts, drained and rinsed.
1 lb bacon, halved
round toothpicks
Sauce:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup catsup
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
wrap half a bacon slice around water chestnut. Secure with toothpick. Bake, uncovered in 9x13 pan at 400 º for 20 minutes. Drain. Add sauce. Bake an additional 30 minutes, uncovered at 350º

This recipe can be doubled. Kikoman is my preferred soy sauce. Traditional Rumaki is made with chicken livers instead of water chestnuts.
