Beer Batter Deep Fried Chicken Recipe
Ingredients -
¾ cup beer
1 egg
1 cup all purpose flour
3 skinless chicken breast halves
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
Ground black pepper to taste
1 ¼ cups vegetable oil
Preparation:
Pre heat oil in deep fryer.
Beat the egg with a whisk then beat in the beer.
Beat in the dry ingredients until you have a smooth mixture. Cover this mixture and let it stand for half an hour.
Cut the chicken breasts in half lengthwise.
Heat the oil in a 10-inch skillet until it reaches 360 degrees F.
Alternatively you can use a deep fryer.
Dip the chicken into the batter using tongs and let the excess drip off.
Add the chicken pieces, one by one, to the hot oil.
After a minute, turn the strips. Keep turning them until they are golden brown.
They should take 4 to 6 minutes to cook.
Drain them on paper towels and serve hot with the dipping sauce of your choice.
