Cupcakes:
1 pkg. regular cake mix (not pudding type)
1 8 oz. pkg. softened cream cheese
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
6 oz. chocolate chips

Frosting:
1 stick butter, softened
1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
2-3 c. powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 - 2 T. milk (if needed)

Cupcakes:
Mix up the cake mix according to directions. Fill cupcakes 1/2 full. Mix up the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and egg with mixer. Stir in the chocolate chips. Add a generous spoonful to each cup, distributing it evenly among the cupcakes. Bake as directed for cupcakes. When cool, frost with cream cheese frosting.

Frosting:
Cream the butter and cream cheese together. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla; mix well. Add milk if needed to get desired consistency.

I often make jumbo cupcakes with this recipe. If so, bake them 5-10 minutes longer than regular cupcakes.
