Cookies:
1 c. sour cream
1 c. butter or shortening
2 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 t. soda
1 t. vanilla
Splash of lemon juice
Add enough flour to make dough soft, about 4 cups.

Frosting:
1 pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 t. vanilla
2 c. powdered sugar
1 T. butter, softened
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cookies: Cream butter and sour cream. Cream sugar into butter and sour cream mixture. Add eggs, vanilla and lemon. Mix until smooth. Add flour and soda. Mix until dough is soft.

Roll out onto floured surface and cut with cookie cutters. Place one dozen on cookie sheet and bake 10-12 minutes at 350º. Cool completely. Frost.

Frosting: Cream butter and cream cheese. Add vanilla and mix. Add powdered sugar and salt. Beat until fluffy.

This is my Mom's signature cookie recipe. The cookies are extremely soft, but do not overbake. This cookie is as tasty as it is beautiful.
