1 1/2 C Confectioners Sugar
1 C butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 tsp Almond Extract
2 1/2 C flour
1 tsp. Baking soda
1 tsp. Cream of Tartar

FROSTING
2 c powdered sugar
1 Tbsp softened butter
1 tsp vanilla
Milk to moisten to frosting consistency

Cream sugar and butter. Mix in egg and flavorings. Sift and measure flour. Blend dry ingredients and stir into sugar, butter mixture. Shape into a ball and wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours or overnight. Heat oven to 375º Divide dough in half and roll out on lightly floured pastry cloth to 3/16" thick. Cut and place onto baking sheet. Bake 8-9 minutes or until delicately golden.

Mix together all the ingredients for frosting. Add just enough milk to make frosting spreadable. Frost and sprinkle with colored sugar if you like.
