Cake:
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 c. water
4 T. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 t. soda
1 t. vanilla

Icing:
1/2 c. butter
4 T. cocoa
6 T. milk
1 box of powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cake: Stir together sugar and flour. In saucepan, bring to a boil the shortening, butter, water and cocoa. Pour over the flour mixture while still hot. Add the buttermilk, beaten eggs, soda and vanilla. Bake in large cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Ice while still hot.
Icing: Bring to a boil the butter, cocoa and milk. Add sugar, vanilla and nuts. Spread on hot cake. Serves 15-20.
