2 oz butter
10 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
4 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 pt heavy cream
lots of black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Saute garlic, mushrooms and black pepper in butter on low heat for about 15 minutes with with the lid on to trap the flavor. Important to keep the lid on and do not burn it. Add cream and heat and keep stirring until lightly boiling (little bubbles).

Howard found this recipe in Pru Leigh cookbook many years ago. This is a great starter for dinner parties. It is always a winner.
