2 Squares Baker's Brand UN-sweetened Baking Chocolate
2 c. Sugar
1 Tbsp. White Karo syrup
3 Tbsp. butter (plus just a little more)
1 Can (5 oz) evaporated milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Use "little more" butter to grease plate and set aside.
In heavy pan, cook all ingredients EXCEPT vanilla over medium heat to a slow and steady boil. Do not rush. Stir constantly.
Test by a small drop in cold water, if it stays together it is done.

Fill sink with cold water to half-way point of pan. Set pan in water, add vanilla, and stir briskly. Pour out onto buttered plate.

Easy to double recipe.
Add in with vanilla: Chopped Nuts (pecans/walnuts 2oz), Coconut (1/4 c.) or Peanut Butter (1/2 c.).
