6 pounds pork spareribs
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon monosodium glutamate
3/4 teaspoon tumeric
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
3/4 cup catsup
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
2 cloves garlic minced

Directions:

Rub the ribs thoroughly with a mixture of sugar, paprika,salt, monosodium glutamate, tumeric, celery seed and mustard. Let stand at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours. Arrange ribs ends down on cooking grill or place bones upright in rib rack. Smoke - cook according to chart (4 - 6 hours). Brush ribs with barbeque sauce the last few minutes of cooking. Then serve with the remaining sauce. For the barbeque sauce mix catsup, sugar, soy sauce, ginger, liquid smoke and garlic. Heat until sugar is dissolved and bubbly. These can just be cooked in the oven instead of smoking them.
