"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Brown and season hamburger in a skillet. Place browned meat in bottom of a 13 inch casserole dish. Place a layer of sliced onions, carrots and potatoes on top of the hamburg. Emty undiluted soups on top of the potato layer. Bake at 300º for 2 1/2 hours or until all vegetables are tender. Do not stir! Keep all ingredients in layers.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Grandma Minnie Glover added that Cream of pea or celery soup may be used instead of mushroom soup.
When I make this I just use a thin layer of onions rather than using 4-5 onions!
