5 lbs. pork spareribs
3/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup each, honey, hoisin sauce and granulated sugar
2 Tbls. toasted sesame oil
3 scallions, chopped
1 Tbls. grated fresh gingerroot, or 1 tsp. ground ginger
2 tsp. chili paste
1 clove garlic, minced

In saucepot over high heat, bing ribs and enough water to cover to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 45 minutes, or until tender. Meanwhile, in saucepan bring remaining ingredients to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered 15 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Heat grill to medium high for direct heat. Place ribs directly on grill. Brush with half of the sauce. Grill with cover down, 20 minutes or until tender, turning once and basting occasionally with remaining sauce.
