4 egg yolks beaten
Add:
2 cups of sugar
1/3 cup of shortening
BEAT ALL TOGETHER

2 cups buttermilk
7 ½ - 8 cups flour
2 tsp salt
2 tsp soda
4 tsp baking power
1 tsp nutmeg

Let stand overnight in refrigerator –

Roll out your dough onto a floured surface and with donut cutter cut out individual donuts and place onto a cookie sheet. Heat shortening to 350º and fry each donut for 2-3 minutes each side or until nice and golden brown.
