• ½ C shortening
• ½ C sugar
• 1 egg
• ½ C light molasses
• 1 ½ C all purpose flour
• ¾ tsp salt
• ¾ tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp ginger
• ½ tsp cinnamon
• ½ C boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar until light. Add egg and molasses and beat thoroughly. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with water, beating after each addition. Bake in ungreased and lightly floured 8x12 inch pan at 350 for 35-40 mins.
