3-1/2 to 4 lbs beef short ribs
1 1/2 cups water
1 medium onion, sliced
1 tbsp vinegar

Sauce:
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
1 cup ketchup
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup white vinegar
2 tbsp prepared mustard 1 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine ribs, water, onion, and vinegar; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour, turning ribs occasionally, drain. Place ribs in a single layer in an ungreased 13x9 baking dish. Combine sauce ingredients; spoon over ribs. Cover and bake at 325º for 1 1/4 hours or until meat is tender.
