¼ cup chopped onion
¼ cup sliced celery
1 clove garlic, minced
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. dried marjoram, crushed
¼ tsp. dried thyme, crushed
2 ½ cups milk
1- 14 ½ oz. can chicken broth*
1 ½ cups cooked chicken
1- 12 oz. can whole kernel corn*
1 cup cooked rice

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan cook onion, celery and garlic in butter or margarine till they are tender. Stir flour, salt, marjoram and thyme into vegetable mixture, blending well. Stir in milk and broth. Cook and stir until slightly thickened and bubbly. Cook 1 to 2 minutes more. Stir in chicken, undrained corn, and rice. Continue cooking 5 to 10 minutes more or till heated through. Makes 4-6 servings.
(for variety have also added ¼ chopped carrot with the celery and onion) * I have also used 2 cups of homemade turkey or chicken stock. I have also used 1 ¾-2 cups of frozen corn.
