Crust:
¼ cup butter
1/3 cup powdered sugar
¼ tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all purpose flour
¼ tsp salt

Filling:
1 8oz package cream cheese
1 egg
¼ cup granulated sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract

Topping:
1/3 cup granulated sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
4 cups peeled and sliced apples
¼ cup sliced almonds

Directions:
Directions:
To make crust, cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Blend in flour and salt. You may need to use your hands. Spread mixture on the bottom and sides of a 9 inch spring form pan. Broil 10 inches from coil for 5 minutes so crust won’t get soggy.

To make filling combine softened cream cheese, egg and sugar. Stir in vanilla. Mix well.

Pour filling into pastry lined pan.

To make topping combine sugar and cinnamon. Mix with apples. Spoon mixture over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with almonds.

Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400 degrees and continue baking for 25 minutes longer. Cool. Remove from ring. Serve same day if possible
