2 C.(4 Sticks) butter, 2 C.(scant)sugar, 4 C all-purpose flour, 2 T. ground cinnamon or nutmeg, 2 egg yolks lightly beaten, 1 tsp. vanilla extract, // 2 egg whites, 2 C. chopped pecans, 1 C. sugar, 1 T. ground cinnamon or nutmeg. (this is not a typo)

Preheat oven to 350º. Beat the butter & 2 c. sugar in extra large mixing bowl until creamy, scraping the bowl occasionally. Add the flour, 2T. cinnamon, the egg yolks and vanilla and beat until blended. Press the dough1/4 in. thick over the bottom of a 13x18 in. baking pan sprayed lightly with nonstick cooking spray.

Lightly beat the egg whites in a mixing bowl. Brush the surface of the prepared layer with egg whites and sprinkle with the pecans. Mix 1 c. sugar and 1 T. cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle over the top. Bake 20 to 25 min. or until light brown. Cut into squares while hot and cool in the pan.

This came from the Woman's Exchange of Memphis. Rickey says it's like getting to eat the top of cinnamon toast with having to eat the bread. Very munchable!!
