1 c. shortening
1/2 c. margarine (no butter)
2 t. powdered ammonia carbonate (baker's ammonia)
2 c. sugar
2-1/2 c. flour
1 c. shredded coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, margarine and sugar. Add ammonia and cream well. Don't breathe during mixing. Add a little flour at a time and coconut. roll into balls the size of a walnut. Place 1 inch apart on baking sheet til lightly brown. Bake at 325º for 20-25 mins. **when opening oven door do not breathe.
