1 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 square chocolate, cut fine
2 T spry (shortening)
1 T butter
1/4 t salt
1/4 c milk
1 1/2 c sifted confectioners sugar
1 t vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Combine brown sugar, chocolate, spry, butter, salt, milk in sauce pan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil slowly 3 minutes, cool. Add confectioners sugar and vanilla and beat until thick enough to spread.

To substitute cocoa for chocolate-use 3 T cocoal and increase spry to 2 1/2 T.
