4 eggs (or 8 egg yolks)
2/3 c sugar
1/2 t nutmeg
2 2/3 c scalding hot milk
1 t vanilla (if desired)

Bake 15 minutes at 450º, 25-30 minutes more at 350º.

Omit nutmeg for coconut pie, add 1 c coconut for 9" pie, 3/4 c for 8" pie.
