1-3/4 c. milk
1/3 c. bread crumbs or crackers

Directions:
Directions:
Cook macaroni as directed on package

Melt 1-1/2 tbsp. butter in a heavy saucepan. Blend in flour, stir in milk slowly, and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. (you can use skim milk to cut down calories OR half and half for better flavor)

Add seasonings and cheese, stirring until cheese is melted. (you can also add in whatever kind of cheese you want, i always add parmigiana and top it off with mozzarella before baking)

Add macaroni and transfer to a buttered 1 qt. casserole

Combine bread crumbs and 1 tbsp. melted butter. Sprinkle over macaroni.* (i like to crush up rits crackers the lightly buttered flavor ones and use those instead of bread crumbs and i add them AFTER baking the pasta)

Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes.
