3/4 cup butter
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
3 cups white flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
4 very ripe bananas
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
3/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)

This recipe makes 2 loafs or 1 bundt pan

Cream butter and brown sugar together. Add beaten eggs and beat till mixture is light and fluffy. Sift flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg. Mash bananas. Add bananas alternately with flour mixture starting and ending with flour mixture. Fold in nuts and chocolate chips (optional).

Bake for 60 - 70 minutes in a buttered and floured loaf pan or bundt pan.
Cool completely before slicing.

To make bananas really ripe, put in the freezer for at least 24 hours before using. They'll turn black.
