1/2 lb real butter (2 sticks)
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp vanilla flavoring
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cp dried, chopped cranraisins
1/2 cp chopped pecans, or walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 325 º. Grease large cookie sheet.
Beat the butter & sugar together till fluffy. Add 2 eggs, vanilla, and beat well.
In separate bowl, mix dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat dry ingredients slowly into butter/sugar/egg mixture. With large spoon, fold in cranraisins, and nuts to biscotti dough.

Divide dough in half. Form each half into 12" log about 1/2" high, 3"wide. Place logs on cookie sheet.
Bake at 325 for 25 minutes or lightly brown.
Cool 10 minutes. Place on cutting board, and while warm, use serrated knife to cut at diagonals 1/2" thick slices.
Lay each slice flat on its side and return to oven for 10 minutes, turn once to dry slightly.

Dad took this recipe from Bonnie, and started to bake his own soft biscotti cookies!!! He would slice the dough smaller to make "mini" biscotti" slices.
