2 sticks butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg, separated
2 c. flour
1 t. vanilla
small pkg. sliced almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add slightly beaten egg yolk and mix. Add flour and mix. Add vanilla. Spread on greased cookie sheet, leaving a 2" border (it spreads). Brush top with egg whites, beaten till frothy. Score dough into squares. Sprinkle with sliced almonds. Bake at 350º for 20 - 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cut while warm on score lines.
