2 beef blade steaks, cut 1/2 in. thick
1 medium onion, chopped
1 c. ketchup
1/3 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 bay leaf
1/8 tsp. hot pepper sauce

Directions:
Directions:
Mix onion, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, garlic, bay leaf & hot sauce in a saucepan & cook slowly 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool. Pour sauce over steaks in utility dish or plastic bag, turning to coat all sides. Cover dish or tie bag & marinate in refrigerator 6 hours or overnight. Pour off marinade & save. Place steaks on rack in broiler pan or on grill so surface of steak is 3-4 in. from heat. Broil at moderate temperature 10 minutes. Turn, brushing both sides with marinade & cook to desired doneness, 8-15 minutes.
