¼ cup margarine
¼ cup shortening
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/3 cup flour
¾ teaspoon baking powder
¾ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup chopped nuts
1/3 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together shortening , sugar, egg until fluffy . Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Shape roll 1 ½ inches in diameter and roll in wax paper. Chill thoroughly in fridge. Slice thin. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Yields 4 dozen.
