1 tsp. soda stirred in apple sauce
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. flour

I loved researching this recipe. The "maplene" can be replaced by using a maple extract. The soda refers to baking soda, and the slow oven temperature is 300º. No servings or prep time indicated.
