Cream one cup of butter, add one cup of sifted powdered sugar, creaming well.

Blend in one egg, one teaspoon of vanilla.

Add 2 ¼ cups flour.

Stir in one cup pecan or walnut halves and one pound of candied cherries (cut in half).

Make three logs 12” long and wrap in wax paper at least one hour or overnight.

Cut into ¼” thick slices on an angle

Bake at 325 degrees on an ungreased baking sheet for 25-30 minutes.
