2 lbs.. sea scallops
salt & pepper
1 tsp.. fresh or 1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves, minced
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. butter
2 c. hand crushed Ritz crackers
1/2 c.butter, melted
1 small lemon

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400º F.

2. Place scallops in a bowl, season with salt & pepper, add thyme and buttermilk and toss to coat. Let set 5 minutes.

3. Place scallops evenly in the bottom of an oven proof dish, sprinkle with cracker crumbs and top with melted butter. Add a dash (or more) of cayenne pepper if you wish!

4. Bake for 20 minutes, squeeze lemon over scallops and serve immediately.

This is a recipe from a famous seafood restaurant in Boston. It is equally good with scrimp replacing the scallops. We have used both frozen thawed shrimp or scallops to make it.
